Adopt adequate means for the end you seek to attain. You cannot get butter by crying yourself hoarse saying "There is butter in the milk." If you wish to make butter, turn the milk into its curds and churn it well, and then you will get butter. So if you seek to see God, practice spiritual Sadhan (devotional exercises) and then you will see God. What is the good of merely crying "O God, O God!"? Sri Ramakrishna

"Know Him, the Spirit, to be one alone. Give up all words contrary to this. He is the bridge of immortality." Upanishad, Mundaka

"'As flowing rivers are resolved into the sea, losing their names and forms, so the wise, freed from name and form, pass into the divine Spirit, which is greater than the great. He who knows that Supreme Spirit becomes spirit."
Upanishad, Mundaka

"The saint who has attained to full perfection Of contemplation, sees the universe Existing in himself, and with the eye Of knowledge sees the All as the One Soul." Atma-Bodha

"When the soul moves on the plane of the Indriyas (senses), it sees the play of the cosmic law. As the soul rises higher, above the universe of change and motion, it sees the One whose name is Love, to dwell in Whom is to enjoy rest and peace." Sri Ananda Acharaya

"He therefore who knows the Self, after having become quiet, subdued, satisfied, patient, and collected, sees self in Self, sees all as Self. Evil does not overcome him, he overcomes all evil. Evil does not burn him, he burns all evil. Free from evil, free from spots, free from doubt, he becomes a true Brahmana." Upanishads
